Cambodia launched officially stock exchange: CCTV News
Cambodia has launched its stock exchange, although no companies are yet listed for trading.
Cambodian Finance Minister, Keat Chhon, said that trading was expected to begin by the end of the year and that three state-owned companies have plans for listing. Cambodia is one of the last Southeast Asian nations to open a stock market.
The stock exchange's opening was postponed twice in order to find new ways to attract foreign capital besides international aid and bank loans. The Cambodian government holds a 55 percent stake in the new exchange, while Korea Exchange has a 45 percent share.
